This project was developed for the 2015 Junior Division GCRSEF. It received the 3rd place award and attended the STANYS fair where it received the 1st place award in its category.

The advancements in autonomous vehicle and drone technology have led to a new problem: How can robots navigate through their surroundings in unfamiliar places? This device can tell a robot where it is in the room, how to navigate the room, and what the room looks like. This type of device could be useful in search and rescue, autonomous navigation, measuring room sizes for real estate agents and for planning escape routes in buildings. It could also be potentially useful for the visually impaired, giving them an idea where they are inside a building.
